Do what you can and hope that Snape doesn't give you a detention for failing miserably.

Sneak into Snape's office and steal the answers.

Break into the Restricted Section in the Library and find the answers there.

Convince Filch that it was entirely your fault and that it had nothing to do with your friend.

Try and argue your case but then give in, knowing that you were in the wrong in the first place.

Admit to what you were doing straight away and take your punishment. Honesty is always the best policy

Don't hesitate to blame it all on your friend to try and avoid getting a detention yourself.

Yep - and if it was done with one fantastically ingenius plan behind it, even better.

Finish off your homework and then have some fun. Get the most important done first.

Pitch up a tent in the Library and start reading from where you left off the day before

Relax and play Quidditch or maybe take a trip into the Forbidden Forest.

Rescue them yourself immediately. No questions asked. You'll think of a plan when you get there.

Form an ingenius plan to outwit their attacker but then get someone else to rescue them for you.

Force yourself to stay out of it. It wouldn't be wise to endanger more people than necessary.

Hesitate but then decide to try and rescue them yourself.
