Look at all these winter wonderlands. I get none.

come like two hours north into wisconsin. we've gotten regular 3-6" snowfalls it seems every two days since the beginning of December. it is snowing right now, which really fucks over my christmas shopping funtimes of today :(

maybe i get pictures later.

I get no snow at all ever and I am going to whine about it now. Also now.

And perhaps again now.

It has sprinkled flurries maybe twice in my life and stuck(ish) once in Vicksburg. That is my life.

The only cool thing is that one of those flurries was on Christmas day and it was Reilly's first Christmas and the white stuck on his black fur and he kept trying to eat the snow flakes on his tongue :D

snow is only fun if the dog is present.

I really badly want it to snow marvelously, soon. Ideally, not long after Christmas, and on a Friday night.

This is in large part because one of my dogs is very old now, and without most of his senses, but still happy. And we're sort of resolved to give him one last run through the snow (something he's always wildly loved).

If we weren't positively sure he were happy, we may've let him go already. And our other dog - a much younger pitbull mix - takes great cafe of him. She was the one that alerted us that he was sick, when he nearly died of some mystery illness.

We never found out what was wrong with him, nor do we know what cured him. The vets told us they didn't know what was going on, and were pumping shotgun treatments into him. Results showed they were ineffective, then virtually overnight his conditions all but disappeared. We were told "I have no idea how your dog is alive, much less well."

That means he's earned one last run in the snow, I think.

So I painted and it makes me happy even though I know that just under two layers of paint there is rotting drywall. Also I pulled up the carpet to reveal black mold. I'm not sure what to do with that. Anyhow this is what part of my apartment now looks like.

i like! it looks all homey and warm and lived in, and natural. not all perfect matchy-matchy, straight out of Ikea and meticulously kept. hates that.

Ha. Ha. I was intending at first to create a football nook for Neal. He still watches football here but we just call it a nook.





I put corner pieces up so maybe people would look at that instead of our horribly rotty and rusty kitchen. You can see I still keep the fire extinguisher nearby.

Gosh you have quite a few chairs.

The football is on the tv, but the tv is on the spotty unfinished wall so you can't see that yet.

We only have 3 dining chairs and then that one brown parson's chair that's in the first two photos. We lost our couch to our Irish Setter so it's our only seating in the living room right now until we order our couch (hopefully) next week.

The one or two chairs in every shot gave the illusion of a house full of random chairs. :)

It could be like the Apartment of Misfit Chairs, kind of like that island in Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer but for deformed chairs instead of toys. Awesome. No couches here. No, sir. Just chairs.

Someday when I am old and live in my vine-covered witch's cottage in the woods, I will have only random mismatched chairs for parlor furniture. Each will come with its own <s>fur throw</s> cat.

I was promised snow today, and they're talking about snow on the roads on the radio, but there is none here today. This does not please me. I am a funny little snow bunny, and get really hyper. My hair also goes really bright red. No idea why, but there is photographic evidence somewhere.

we're getting some, but it's not lying fortunately.

Yup snow up the wild far north too. I think it's actually forecast for the proper snow overnight. Which means I might not get back to Dundee as planned, as Scotrail will cancel trains if it's raining too much. oh well.

It flurried in Richmond yesterday but nothing stuck. Nothing ever sticks here.
