I want to point out that the subdued colour scheme here makes it easier for me to spend prolonged periods of time at the site while I'm at work.

I'm still nor sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing.

but it's easier.

That was sort of my thinking, actually. Hopefully the content and the discussion board speak for themselves, and don't need some crazy-ass design to prop them up.
