Scott I had something weird happen with my set up recently. I just installed a new printer and connected it via usb into my built in desk-hub but whenever I print a document all my usb shit goes bananaz. I dunno wtf is up with that but I'm going to try not using the hub for the printer and see what happens.

Hubs can do some strange ass shit. I once had one where, if I had just it plugged in, the world was fine, but as soon as I plugged something into the hub, my internet connection died.

I've always found the powered one more stable and if you really need a hub, it's worth splashing out on a decent brand. Alternatively consider getting a USB PCI card. If PCI still exists.

I suppose that's always an option, but it's not like I don't have some available ones in the back already. I'm just too lazy to connect/test it I'll probably wait until I have to print something.

what is your sound card?

it is probably a driver issue. if you don't know how to find your sound card hold the windows key and pause/break button at the same time to bring up your system properties and then you can click the tab that says hardware and then click the button that says device manager and see what shows up under your sound and video gamer controllers. ignore the stuff that says legacy drviers and media control device you are looking for the sound card probably something like SNDBLASTER or the brandname of the sound card maker.

then type that name into google and download the drivers

they will be free
